Commissioned Pet Photography
Windance Design introduces Pet Photographer Lori Langton

Offering to all of you pet lovers in Western Washington, the chance to cherish memorable photographs of your beloved pet. Having always been very passionate about my pets, photography is a way of being able to capture many treasured images. My back ground from the University of Washington, gave me photographic experience, and was apparent I had a natural gift for nature photography after taking a study under world-renowned wildlife and nature photographer Art Wolfe. My main inspiration still has to be the many hiking and camping trips I have taken with my family and our 5 dogs. My passion for photography grew into the art it is today by being able to capture my own pets relaxed in their natural environment.

A very important part of being a pet photographer is the relationship between you and the pet. You need to gain the confidence of the animal. Pets are utterly truthful and capturing that honesty is definitely an art as a photographer. You can’t expect pets to be models, so you have to be patient and do whatever it takes to get that winning pose. That is why it’s not always your photography experience, but the relationship you have between the animal you are photographing. It’s my ability to make them feel at ease and comfortable in their setting so that they show off their true personality. My love, kindness and trust for animals always seems to shine through and even the shyest of pets comes around with the warmest of heart.

The best setup for your photo session would be either at your home or a space that is familiar and comforting to your pet. Plus there is always that one magical thing to be found that will tempt a particular pet, whether it is a treat, a toy, or a key phrase, to get the portraits that you’ll cherish forever.

I charge $150.00 an hour to photograph one pet. Each additional pet is charged accordingly. Most photo sessions take an hour. Prints are not included in this price, see chart below for print prices. There is no charge for travel time.

So please give us a call to schedule a photo session with myself and my assistant.
